Proud Scotsman Steve came to the club as not only a workmate, but boss of Paul Gilmour, which meant everyone had to pretend that Gilmour was always reliable and on-time. A former player in the Scottish leagues, any expectations of a rock solid, no nonsense centre-back were destroyed when Steve produced a pair of pink football boots. Nevertheless, he impressed in the games he played, except when he played for Sky Sports News against the Old Boys, and was described by his own team’s manager as “guilty of overplaying at the back when he should have been clearing his lines,at fault for the final goal and failed to organise back line on corners and set-pieces”.
As his appearances have become more regular, his importance to the 1st team has increased, and he organises the Old Boys back line with authority and ensures the pre-match changing room playlist is cheesy. Away from the Old Boys, Steve works in the Sky Sports News department, so therefore believes that the Old Boys 1st team manager got the job after winning a competition, have an average home crowd of 28, and are unable to train on a Tuesday due to Nobles being hired by the local metal detecting society.
Steve is also a passionate Rangers fan, so it’s best not to be anywhere near him when they get tonked by Celtic.
