Sam joined the club in season 2015-6, turning up to training as a cheeky happy chappy looking to add pace, movement and goals to the Old Boys ranks. Unfortunately when he stepped out on to the pitch, he suffered stage fright and starting missing open goals with startling regularity, so rather than challenging for the club’s top goalscorer award, Sam was the runaway winner of the most petulant strop of the season at training.
Nevertheless, Sam’s amazing wit and humour entertained many on the club’s social media, where he also shared his enjoyment of a soak in a bubble filled bath or taking a few photos…indeed sometimes doing both at the same time.
2016-7 saw a renewed energy with Sam, as he took on the role of club treasurer and recruited many far more talented players than himself to the club. Ultimately, his desire to play football at a level far more suited to his abilities saw him depart the club prior to Christmas.
