Player Profile

Nick Bunn

One of the longest serving players at the club having been part of the era of Moscrop, Reeve et al, Nick remained the club’s first choice goalkeeper up until his retirement at the end of 2010-11, due to his consistency, lack of major injury problems (except perhaps a dodgy ankle which prevents him taking goal kicks), and the fact that no other goalkeeper has hung around long enough to displace him. While a lot of players from his era had retired gracefully (or been forced to by wives/girlfriends/growing families), Nick remained an active member of the club, whether that be losing money at the races or having his mental strength tested by Rob Sutton at the Annual Old Boys Golf Day which Nick continues to organise (but never win) superbly every year.
