Jai was one of the original Old Boys Reserves team (class of Jim Van Wijk’s), that was persuaded to rejoin the club when Dan Savill became captain. A player who was never far from the action, he was also a player who broke records by the hatful – whether that be the number of goals he would score, or the amount of fines he racked up for various on the pitch issues. A favourite of the men in black, he was once the victim of one of the most bizarre sendings off, when the referee took exception to Jai trying to spell his name correctly. Oh how we miss the Uxbridge Sunday Leagues.

Jai also holds an Old Boys record, for playing and scoring in a game where his son also played and scored (aged 13 – how the oppo enjoyed being told that). Since those heady times, Jai has spent time working in Africa where he spreads the word about what a great team Chelsea are…
