Royal Holloway Old Boys 1st team squad played against a well drilled Lyne side. The fourth friendly between the clubs in the last two years and another good workout against a good side.
Lyne started well and had plenty of possession in the first half but Old Boys grew into the game and should have taken the lead before half time. A slight change in formation at the start of the second half saw the Old Boys grab the impetus during the early part of the second period. As the game wore on both teams had chances to score but it looked as if the game would end in draw until Lyne scored in the dying moments.
A fairly even game and a good work out for both teams giving manager Stuart Elliott a few things to ponder before the start of the season. The Old Boys look forward to one final friendly on Saturday before they kick off their league season on August 26th at home vs Chessington KC.
