Report:

Royal Holloway Old Boys battled to a hard-fought three points against Ripley Village on a heavy pitch at Nobles. The home side showed good discipline to recover from going a goal behind early on and being pegged back in the second half.

A slow start to the game saw the visitors take the lead after a foul which the referee deemed to be just inside the area. However a good move saw the Old Boys equalise with Chris O’Reilly tapping home from close range. Then with the visitors leaving three players up when defending a corner, Curt Watts was allowed a free header to put the home side in front.

Ripley were the first to strike in the second half with a good strike from the edge of the box, however again the Old Boys responded well with a great strike from Harry Cobb into the top corner. Rich Ryan then added a fourth with a far post header, before the visitors had a goal disallowed after the ball was judged to be out of play, and the protests saw them reduced to ten men. Sub Peter Udida then added a fifth with a fine run and finish, but Ripley added a consolation third after some sloppy play from the Old Boys.

The Old Boys now have a couple of weeks off before their final league game at Laleham and the League Cup final.
