Report:

Royal Holloway Old Boys progressed to the 4th round of the County Cup at the expense of holders Chessington KC at Nobles.

Chances were few in a first half that saw possession fairly equal but much of the game played in the Old Boys half of the pitch, as the home side failed to play with the required tempo. They did however have a big shout for a penalty when Brand was brought down, however the referee deemed the offence to be just outside the box and the resultant free-kick came to nothing. Just as it looked as if the half would end goalless, Curt Watts bundled home Patterson’s corner to give the Old Boys the lead.

The second half performance was improved, however as the half wore on, so the visitors were pressing for an equaliser and the Old Boys were playing on the break. Elliott Morsia finally sealed the win after picking up a pass from Grierson and sliding the ball past the ‘keeper.

The Old Boys welcome Milford & Witley in the next round in mid-January, and are back in cup action in the League Cup next weekend at home to AFC Spelthorne.
